Fulfills DOT, OSHA, and DOE Requirements
Gives Workers Proof of Training

Teamster instructors have experience in a wide variety of jobs, including construction, remediation and HAZMAT transportation. Instructors are required to complete the DOE basic instructor training program and the OSAH 500 Construction Trainer Course, and attend a yearly Instructor Development Program to learn new regulations and work practices.
The Teamsters provide safety and health training throughout the United States. Teamster Training Centers conduct courses at their own facilities and can transport instructors and equipment to hold courses at ports, construction projects, remediation sites, company locations and union halls...anywhere.

- 40-Hour HAZWOPER Course
- OSHA requires this course for workers at hazardous waste sites. The course includes classroom learning and realistic hands-on activities using respirators, protective clothing and safety equipment. Upon completion, each worker receives a “40-Hour Card” that certifies the worker for 12 months, at which time OSHA requires a Refresher Course.
- 8-HOUR HAZWOPER REFRESHER COURSE
- OSHA requires this course for workers at hazardous waste sites. The course includes classroom learning and realistic hands-on activities using respirators, protective clothing and safety equipment. Upon completion, each worker receives a “40-Hour Card” that certifies the worker for 12 months, at which time OSHA requires a Refresher Course.
- OSHA 7600 DISASTER SITE WORKER COURSE
- OSHA’s 7600 Disaster Site Worker Course provides disaster site workers awareness of the safety and health hazards they may encounter. This includes the importance of respiratory and other personal protective equipment (PPE), proper decontamination procedures, and the use of the Incident Command System (ICS).
- 16-HOUR HAZMAT ENDORSEMENT
- This course satisfies the worker training requirements for general hazardous waste site workers. This course covers the material required by the OSHA standard and the NIEHS Minimum Criteria. It is applicable to general site workers, but emphasizes job activities and hazards that Teamsters are likely to encounter. The course provides realistic hands-on training activities.
- 8-HR HAZMAT AWARENESS COURSE
- DOT requires those who handle, store and transport hazardous waste materials to take hazmat awareness training and security awareness training. The course fulfills the DOT hazmat awareness and security awareness requirements. The course teaches workers to recognize hazmat emergencies, recognize security threats, and initiate proper response procedures to protect themselves, co-workers, the workplace and the community from contamination. Upon completion, each worker receives a card that certifies compliance with DOT training requirements. The card is valid for three years, after which time DOT requires workers to retake the training. The course targets warehouse workers, drivers who handle and transport hazmat, and port workers who transport intermodal shipping containers.
- 24-HOUR RADWORKER II COURSE
- DOE requires this course for workers in areas with radiation exposure or radioactive contamination. The course includes classroom learning and realistic hands-on activities. Workers practice the use of anti-contamination clothing, respirators and monitoring equipment, and work in a simulated radiological area. Upon completion, each worker receives a “DOE Card” that certifies the worker for two years, after which time DOE requires the worker to either retake this couse or pass a challenge examination.
- 8-HOUR RADWORKER II REFRESHER COURSE
- DOE requires this course every two years to maintain certification.
- 10-HOUR OSHA CONSTRUCTION SAFETY AND HEALTH OUTREACH COURSE
- Many contractors and jurisdictions require construction workers to take this course on OSHA standards, electrical safety, fall protection and other topics chosen to match the job tasks of the workers attending the course. Upon completion, each worker receives an “OSHA 10-Hour Card” showing that the worker completed this course.
- 30-HOUR OSHA CONSTRUCTION SAFETY AND HEALTH OUTREACH COURSE
- The 30-hour Construction OSHA Outreach Training Program is intended to provide a variety of training to workers with some safety responsibility. Training should emphasize hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention.
